A Nose Knows Best

A Nose Knows Best

I'm not sure what Blues fans will think of this but Muzzy Izzet has backed Martin O' Neill to bring success to Aston Villa.

Izzet is quoted as saying 'Martin has been linked with just about every club and if Villa can get him, they will have got a manager who has won so much and achieved so much - and that is what they want. If anyone can do it, and restore Villa to where they want to be, then it is Martin O'Neill. That is guaranteed. Within a couple of years he will have achieved something.'

He added: 'He got every last drop out of Leicester City and he would do the same at Villa. Villa used to be a top six side every season. Leicester did well against them but Villa were always the team in the midlands who finished in the highest position.

'Villa have got a great history and now need someone to bring those good times back and take them onto the next level. Martin can bring those days back.'

All of this is unlikely to make him popular over in Small Heath but as one of the key players in O' Neill's Leicester side Izzet is undoubted a player who knows O' Neill very well. It all bodes well, as long as we can get him to come.

I wouldnt say 'unpopular'... he's just speaking sense. He would do a good job for you, but I'd rather see you get Billy McNeil back instead!! ;-)

He is the only man for the job. We missed out on Cloughie thanks to Doug and this could be the only chance we get for a guy who can be just as great
