Players Fed Up - Relegation Looms

Ellis towers has ordered his spin doctors to do some overtime and have come up with a denial that any players released a statement decrying their 'beloved' leader.

A statement released yesterday claimed dissatisfaction from the players with the current leadership of the club Villa Players Are Revolting

Doug Ellis is said to be 'furious' as he has had 'no indication from any member of the playing staff or coaching staff of any dissatisfaction at the training ground.'

WAKE UP ASTON VILLA AND ALL THOSE THAT BULLSHIT FROM WITHIN.

The fans are fed up, the shareholders (apart from the majority and greedy one) are fed up, the players are fed up, most of the staff are fed up and the manager (surely?) and former managers (definitely) are fed up. Aston Villa have sunk to a tier three club within the Premiership and only one man is to blame.

I got a text today from my source at Bodymoor. He said, and I quote: 'Prepare for relegation. Only just back and everyone is already totally fed up'.

Now I don't care whether one player, ten players or the whole squad released the statement, the words echo everything most right minded Villa fans have said for years. You can go back as far as Gareth Southgate's departure to see that players get demoralised at the lack of direction and ambition at Villa and when he left things were far less critical than they are now.

Villa are now on its knees and all the spin that emanates from Ellis Towers will not stop that from being a clear and undisputed fact.

The official site's statement, in fairness to balance, claims:

Head of Media and Communications Phil Mepham told www.avfc.co.uk: 'The chairman is furious, because he has had no indication from any member of the playing or coaching staff of any dissatisfaction at the training ground. So this has come as a great surprise. Once the 'story' broke, I spoke to several senior members of the first-team squad, all of whom had no knowledge of the statement. All of them were surprised at its content. So to suggest this is a collective statement is ridiculous.'

'Sadly, subsequent reporting this evening appears not to have checked the accuracy or otherwise of the original claims. As a club, we find this extremely disappointing, especially as coverage has unfairly and inaccurately shown the club in a bad light.'

Villa narrowly missed out on relegation last season. Players are being linked with exits, no players are being linked incoming. The manager is at loggerheads with fans and the board it seems. There is no money at Aston Villa. A rushed sale of the land will help cover up yet another loss but won't get to the root cause of the losses being made. Fans are voting with their feet. The press are scratching their heads. Villa, at the admittance of Doug (the menace of B6) are budgeted for 10th spot.

Do we really believe that all is well at Villa? Do we really believe that players - brought to the club on the promise of the Champions League are happy with the prospect of the Championship?

Hang your head in shame Doug Ellis, hang your head in shame.

Well, according to the Birmingham Mail, the words were from one disgruntled player, talking to a local journalist, and there is now a suggestion that O'Leary is trying to engineer his way out of Villa Park. Hmm....

How the squad can be up, ready, and motivated for the season ahead is beyond me.

You're not wrong Jon. Every season I can't wait for the football to Start back again after the summer. This year i'm actually dreading it, especially ith our opening fixture. Hardly going to be a confidence builder when the Arsenal smash us out of site.

It's a shame Ellis has drowned our club. We will fall like the Titanic next season...Ellis has had ample chances to sell the club at reasonable values, however he lives in a dream world and values it himself 16-20m over the realistic asking price. Perhaps he thinks the Witton Lane end belongs to him and not the club. Fool.
