Baros Wants To Go?

This one has the making of a typical Aston Villa summer transfer saga doesn't it.

Milan Baros' Czech team-mate David Jarolim has been quoted as saying that Baros has been asking him all about Hamburg (is it nice, are there good shops I guess?) and about the club.

It now appears as well that Baros' Czech-Mate has managed to convince our top signing from last summer that Hamburg is the place to be, the ex-Liverpool striker now quoted in the German press:

'HSV is a very large and good club, with which I want to win titles.'

Whoops, turns out Doug's ambition isn't enough for a talented striker, now he wants to go I don't think there will be much stopping him. Though there will of course be the 'you've taken my comments out of context' speech from the man himself.

What will happen, stay tuned. Though don't pay too much attention...as this one will go on for a while!

Not when Ole Uncle Doug sees those shiney silver pieces and DOL gets 650k of the 8 million to spend on squad development, he'll be out of the claret and blue and into a Hamburg shirt before he can tie his laces.

Now there's two words I never thought I'd see in the same sentence ..."Doug" and "ambition. It was "Doug" and "forward planning" yesterday! Can't see Baros going this year and even if he does go I can't see him going to Hamburg. Why would he want to go and play in Germany for anyone other than Bayern? He might as well go and play for Hearts in Scotland

baros is one of those players who is ok, but i dont think he is what villa need. they need players who want to fight for the club, and i dont think for one minute he cares about villa. shame, because i think they deserve to be doing better than they are.

I think we will have the same team as last season.... O'Leary wont sell as he knows he's at risk of buying a muppet like usual if he replaces Baros, Davis, Mellberg or Barry.... He has to sell to buy and I think he's convincing himself he can do better next term with the current squad.. I think he can, not a greeat deal better, if we finish midtable that would be a successfull season...

Baros will leave on transfer deadline day in the same way that Solano did. And then come the transfer window we'll be told theres no money available for transfers. Its happened before, it'll happen again!!

Football players say different things to different people. The problem is, he didn't have the best of World Cups to whack his value up, but he was at the World Cup for clubs to see him.

If he HONESTLY wants to go then get £10m and let him go, no point in having him moping about injured being subbed slagging the club off etc longer than neccessary
fatloser
Agree fatloser, if he wants out as bad as has been suggested and rumoured for months now, then so be it, let him go. At least hold out for something in the region of 10m though, dont move him on for the first bid that comes in. What depresses me even more than seeing a talent like Baros walk out on the club though, is when I read stories linking us to a 34 year year old replacement. That is not the way forward, but then again we all know that, so why am I attempting to preach to the already converted?
