'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Former Young Lion Goes South

Former academy winger Jamie Ward has found himself a new club having been released by Villa earlier this year. 20 year old Ward has signed for Torquay, their second signing of the summer break.

Deemed I guess to be 'not good enough,' he was released on a free and has now found a new life beside the seaside, beside the sea.

Ward has signed a 3-year contract and was clearly pleased that he now has a chance at first team football:

'I believe I can do a good job for the club and that it can help my career.'

Ward had been chased by all sorts of clubs around the lower leagues, and had been expected mostly at Stockport, with whom he spent the last 2 months of last season on loan.

Obviously not that lion, that one will be lining up somewhere in the team next season the way things are going, personally I would give it a managerial role.

Gotta admit...probably couldn't do much worse!

Good luck to the kid. Strange how he can be made captain of the reserves if he's not good enough though!

good luck to him, its a pity he didnt make it as our prospects in the transfer market look bleak for years to come!

Never particularly impressed me to be honest, but good luck to him. He'll get plenty of opportunities to prove himself at Plainmoor, so who knows what his future holds?
