Seagulls For Henderson?
Rookie shot stopper Wayne Henderson could become a Brighton player on a permanent basis in the January transfer window according to reports in the Daily Telegraph.
Henderson has recently finished a three month loan spell with the Seagulls and if the fee is acceptable, O'Leary will allow him to move: 'It's down to Brighton but there might be some sort of deal that can be done in January. We don't want to stand in Wayne's way and hopefully something can be sorted out.'
Reports earlier in the week quoted Eric Steele, Villa's goalkeeping coach as saying: 'Wayne enjoyed his time at Brighton. It was obviously something that was good for him and good for the club. But it's important that Wayne is able to build on that spell. He needs another opportunity to play first team football. If another opportunity comes up, we wouldn't stand in his way. He needs first team football to make him a better player.'
Henderson is certainly in favour of a move having described Villa as 'a horrible place to go to.' Before explaining 'I get on great with the academy and goalkeeping coaches, but Mr O'Leary has his own views on what he wants in goal - and I'm not part of that.'
