Villa Televised Five Times

TV heaven?!

Aston Villa have been selected for five early season games, four of them being away matches.

West Ham, Watford, Wigan and Sheffield United away games will all be shown. Fulham at home will also be televised.

West Ham (away) Sunday September 10 (4pm)

Watford (away) Saturday September 16 (5.15pm)

Fulham (home) Saturday October 21 (5.15pm)

Wigan (away) Sunday November 19 (1.30pm)

Sheffield United (away) Monday December 11 (8pm)

Great that it is mostly away games because I don't get to them, I only suffer - sorry I mean attend - home matches!

obviously from that line up of teams, they're showing us playing against all the teams they think we will be fighting for survival with, and on that note, will the last person out of villa park please turn the light off!!

I assume the blues games will be added? Or at least one will, surely!
murph
I'm assuming we won't be playing Blues. Unless I've been dreaming and they didn't actually get relegated back to where they belong?!

Looking at the state of your club I predict no more than 6 points from these 5 games. Not a betting man really but will have a fiver on Villa to go down this season. With Villa fans rattlling around like peas in a pod in what will surely be the emptiest ground in the Prem. Shhhhhhhh.... 40% of the ground will be empty for many matches. Will you go below 50% capacity on a cold December Saturday befdore Xmas. Douglas Ellis... how does he get away with it?
greyhound
He's deadly you know !! :)
FEn_100
Unfortunately greyhound, there is no way of forcing him to sell his shares which also more or less give him complete control, making him unmovable as chairman also. Do you think we haven't tried? In addition, we can't force anyone else to invest and Doug is making AV PLC a less attractive investment proposition very rapidly.
Villain Of The North
Spot on Villain of The North. The regime at VP is a dictatorship and our board is made up of Ellis' 'yes men'. Any chairman with an ounce of dignity would take the numerous votes of no confidence from the shareholders as a sign to sell up and go. Only way Ellis will leave VP is in a big wooden crate, probably with tennis racket still in hand
DougInABox
Nuts. Do you know I completely forgot that Birmingham were relegated. Remembering, has just made my day :-)
murph
Man City got rid of Swales remember? Not that I am suggesting you go to those lengths. What part of the North you from VOTN? Greyhound (Stockport)
greyhound
It is certainly noticeable that we are now being shown against the second and third tier teams in the Prem, although it is still great to have so many games being shown and at least we have a chance of winning these ones?!
The Fear
I'm actually not from the North, I'm from Solihull but I now live in Norway, which I'm sure you will agree is defintely NORTH :o)

I'm actually not from the North, I'm from Solihull but I now live in Norway, which I'm sure you will agree is defintely NORTH :o) I went to college in Crewe, and had a flatmate from Stockport, I thouhgt you were all Citeh fans ;o/
Villain Of The North
Oooooh twice!
Villain Of The North
4 matches away could perhaps prove you're a very good side or could say something different....
wallis
i ment televised by the way before someone comes in with a smart comment lol
wallis
West ham spanked us at the Boleyn last season, Wigan V Villa was full of goals, Sheff Utd two seasons ago was 3-1 in FA Cup, they think Watford have a chance of beating us, the Fulham at home is a bizarre one! Entertainment thats what they want
