Laursen Kicks A Ball

Some good news to report (at last!).

Martin Laursen is getting ever closer to fitness.

The Danish international defender, who sat out the whole of last season barring one game, has at least been able to kick a ball.

Laursen said: 'I'm doing fine - I'm out on the pitch running and doing some ball work and the knee feels good. The knee has responded well, but the only thing I've got to be careful of is doing too much because after nine months my knee and whole body needs to progress slowly. Hopefully I'll be ready to take some part of pre-season.'

Adding 'We're due back on July 10 and I think I'll be back in England on July 8. Hopefully I can start on July 10 and train normally with the rest of the first team. But I probably won't be able to do everything in every training session - I may have to do some things and rest from others. These are all things we have to discuss.'

Right, come on Doug, lets have the comment:

'Martin Laursen is like a new signing for us.'

Lets hope he makes it back, far too young to be forced to retire. Big ask after nearly 2 seasons out though.
The Fear
Still a long, hard road ahead of him, but we're all hoping that he makes a full recovery. Good luck to him.

We might need him if Olof decides he's had enough
