Villa Start Against Arsenal

Villa Start Against Arsenal

Well the fixtures are out today and Villa have a fantastic start away to Arsenal at their new home at Ashburton Grove.

The Premiership starts August 19th although I'd say this tie is almost certain to be shown on Sky as it is the debut for Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

There is never a good time to play Arsenal but I'd rather try to catch them cold at the start of the season than when they are flying!

Unfortunately thanks to the ludicrous charges from the FA to show fixture lists, we are unable to replicate them, despite the fact I believe any site should be able to show what is in effect an advert for the forthcoming games, you know, the ones we all pay good money to see!

So for a fixture list, check out the official site:Click Here

The rest of August should be interesting, we have two home fixtures, Wednesday 23rd is against Premiership new boys Reading and Saturday 26th against Newcastle United. Will James Milner be a Villa player by then or will he line up against us?

Villa play Manchester United at home on December 23rd and face Chelsea at home on New Years day. Our final game of the season is away against Bolton, Sunday 13th May. Lets hope we are playing for a European place and not relegation.

As someone pointed out, it's better to play them at the start of the season when all of their players are knackered from the world cup. I'd still rather put 3 points on the board early and I don't think we'll do that in our first game. A draw might boost the spirits though!

Yup, would rather catch them cold. Be nice to see their new stadium as well, posted a link in the open terrace forum showing pictures of it. Hate to admit it, but it looks very nice!

Well, we've never lost there (Ashburton Grove). That surely has to be a plus?
