Villa's Milner Saga

Oh great, there might be some good news to cheer us long suffering Villa fans later in the week!

According to the Express and Star Villa's chances of signing Newcastle winger James Milner could be 'clearer by the end of the week.'

The report says that Newcastle want to sort the situation with Wigan apparently also waiting in the wings to buy the 20-year-old who spent all of last season on loan at Villa.

The more I read this report the less substance I see in it actually to be optimistic! :(

It is simply stated that Milner has yet to meet Newcastle's boss Glenn Roeder adding that Milner has been told to return for pre-season training with the Magpies on July 4th.

What a ridiculous situation. It should have been done and dusted by now. All the uncertainty can't be doing Milner any good. Do we have a plan B in case we don't get Milner?!

Do we have a Plan A?

I think plan A is the usual...for Ellis to string the transfer out for as long as possible in the hope that more supporters will renew their season tickets. Then he'll blame Newcastle, Milner and the tea lady as to why the transfer fell through. Plan A should have been to agree a fee to buy Milner when his loan started. Excellent forward thinking Douglas

You're forgetting green giant that the only manager Milner wants to play for is O'Leary...apparently!

Just cant understand why we havent tested the water by putting a bid in. Whats the problem? Why are we dragging our feet? Have we decided (Ellis/Stride) that we dont want/need him?

May be they are waiting for the money from Mellberg?
