Baros Facing World Cup Heartbreak

Milan Baros could be facing World Cup heartbreak as he fears his foot injury could rule him out of playing in the tournament.

He watched the Czech Republic finish 3-0 victors over the USA but was unable to play a part in the game.

The Villa striker said: 'Of course I'm worried I'll miss the tournament. You see all these big games and you want to play in them. This is the first time we have qualified for the World Cup in 16 years and I want to be involved. But my health is the most important thing. I do not want to be out for a year just because I have had an injection to try and get me through. The problem is with the inside of my foot. It hurts when I move and it is not good. I did a bit of training yesterday and, you never know, I might be on the bench on Saturday. If not, I will just be carrying on being a fan instead.'

Maybe he will be able to play in the 2nd round or even later in the tournament depending on his teams progress. Good luck Milan.

Good for us, he wont go anywhere!

No, wouldn't wish that on the player, he deserves to be on the world stage.
The Fear
More exposure for the club if he plays and has a good tournament. And he'll come back to VP full of confidence

as much as it pains me to say it i would imagine Baros wanted to attract potential clubs by performing well in the world cup and am not sure if he would be as comitted to villa if he has to stay due to his injury. That said he has never stated he wants to leave the villa. so do we want to keep him with his good goal to game ratio or do we want to cash in on him to prepare for wots lookin to be a tough season ahead?

Yes youre right, DOL is the anti-Christ who lies awake at night planning ways to destroy the club and ***** off the fans...

I think that he will be off, whether he performs in the tournament or not. Ellis and O'Leary have more or less admitted they they need him gone if new faces are to appear on the VP scene. That situation is diabolical, but is also fact. Good luck to him. He's a class act who needs and deserves to be playing on the European stage, not playing in front of 24,000 supporters in a meaningless mid-table skirmish at Villa Park in March. Mid-table that is, if we're lucky.

If he doesn't play in the WC will any prospective team want to sign someone that is crocked? Surely he's have to prove his fitness first, which should mean that he would be with you till at least the january TW.
