Should we follow Englands lead?

I can't help feeling a bit down with the Aston Villa saga - future seems very bleak!!! Thank goodness for the World Cup to divert my attention!!

Just saw a picture of Keane announcing his retirement with a Celtic top on - I noticed the star above the Celtic badge and it reminded my of the star above the Three Lions on the England shirt. Obviously this represents the European Cup and World Cup wins. I know many other teams do the same
thing.

I just feel that 25 years on from our European Cup win it would be nice to have the star above the Villa crest on our shirts. Might help me think of better times!!!

Just seems that it would be a fitting tribute and remind people that we ARE a big club and, if it wasn't for certain people, we would still be!!

Did they not say after last years "consultation" that it was too late for last seasons kit but they would put it on future ones?

our european cup triumph wont be remembered until ellis goes.where can you see any real reccolection around vp in memory of our greatest achievment ?

Its a great idea, and one that would meet with the approval of all supporters. A lot more should be made of our European Cup success. That it isnt, is solely due to present Villa Park regime. Shame on Ellis and co.

If Doug was chairman when we won the European Cup we would have had a big star as the badge with the Rampant Lion somewhere above it. He'd still be getting Stride to wheel a full size replica around next to him in a shopping trolley... Such a shame because if it's good enough for Celtic, it's good enough for the Villa.

Agree with south coast villain on that one. Naming it The Doug Ellis Stand was a slap in the face to all the great men who have been associated with the club over the years, men with claret and blue blood running through their veins, men so much more deserving of such an honour than ever Ellis could hope to be.

Im not fussed about the star to be honest, when I see the star over the England crest I always think "hanging on to past glories"... I'm of the opinion that you should only have a star over your crest if you are the defending champions. But thats just my opinion,.
