Villa's Mellberg Left Frustrated

Villa's Mellberg Left Frustrated

Aston Villa and Sweden captain has backed England to win Group B and possibly go all the way.

The defender, who was frustrated by Sweden's inability to break down Trinidad and Tobago despite having over 60% of possession and playing against 10 men for most of the second half said:

'England is one of the favourites to win the whole thing. I think England definitely is the group favourite, with Paraguay and Sweden just behind there.''

He was certainly right before the 0-0 draw as he said 'I don't think we'll see many scoring chances.'

He said after the game 'It was a very frustrating evening for us. We created more chances, kept the ball more but for some reason it did not want to go into the net for us. Now with a draw in this first game we will have to double our efforts and try to get maximum points from our next two matches. It won't be easy, but we are still very much alive.'

They are still in there fighting, and certainly more than capable of upsetting England in the final group fixture. Thought Olof played well against T and T, and certainly seemed to do more rallying the troops and shouting than he ever does when captaining our lot.
