Danny Mills Is NOT A Villa Target

Villa manager David O'Leary has said that he has no interest in Manchester City and former Leeds right-back Danny Mills.

It seems the reports last week linking Villa with a move for the former England international was simply agent talk trying to find his player a new club after Citeh said he would be allowed to leave for around 1million.

We did a poll asking if you would like to see Mills join Villa and over 60% said they would because he would add experience and bite to the team.
However O'Leary has flatly denied any interest:

'We do not have any plans to bring in Danny Mills. I am happy with that position and there are other areas of the team we need to concentrate upon.'

Happy with that position. Fair enough. 1 down, 10 to go. :)

Happy with that position, fine as long as we dont sell Delaney then and he stays injury free. But UDLC had to play a few games this season when both Delaney and Hughes were injured so who will slot in if this happens again?

Typical huh? The one (and so far only) time that the fans actually want O'Leary to sign one of his "old chums" from Leeds, he says he's not going to. This man has absolutely no rapport with the fans!!!!! - not that I'm a big fan of Mills, but it would be nice if he at least listened.

Thank god for that!! Players get linked to villa all the time and in most cases its agents that are doing the 'linking' Sure Mills mightve improved the squad but there are shed loads of players that could do that. When money is limited we've no choice but to be incredibly selective about which players the club goes for.

It would be nice if O'Leary listened to fans in order to get transfer targets? If O'Leary ever ever ever ever ever signs a player simply because the fans like the idea of it, I'll mortgage my house so that Ellis can sack him. What a crazy comment.

No doubt we have a youth team player waitin in the wings to step in if (when) Delaney and hughes get injured.thtas wot he means so then he can keep sayin 'ah we have a nice bunch of kids who ah give me 100% and ah thats all i can ask' in his post match comments

Totally crazy comment Gazton, what they should do is listen to who WE vote for on our polls, now that would be a good way to run the club! ;-))

Gazton, I said it would be nice if O'Leary listened, not that he did exactly what fans wanted. A good leader (and that is what a football manager should be) will always listen to all sides and then make an informed decision. Can you imagine what would happen if O'Leary decided to resign Dwight Yorke after the comments he made when joining the blues, there would be a full scale riot in B6, so FANS MUST BE LISTENED TO!!!!

Presumably Mark Delaney remains pretty adamant he wants out, or has that situation changed? A fully fit, committed Mark Delaney would be a huge plus, and would make sense of O'Learys decision not to pursue Danny Mills. However with so much uncertainty surrounding MD's future, plus his fitness record should he remain, a move for Mills looked on the surface to be a sensible option.

1million for Mills is cheap. He`s wages must be too much. If Hughes is used as a centre half and we have sold Delaney, due to his sick record ? We need players of like Mills at the club, the only big question is, WHY does Stuart Pearce want to sell ??
