If Baros Goes, Who Should Play?

If Baros Goes, Who Should Play?

Vital Villa asked, in a poll suggested by Groseyboy, if Baros goes, who should play up front?

The overwhelming majority, with 46%, said Juan Pablo Angel and Luke Moore.

20% said Kevin Phillps and Angel.
13% wanted Moore and Gabriel Agbonlahor, which I think we all hope will be a future and deadly partnership for Villa!
11% wanted Gabby to play with Angel (do I need to re-phrase that?) and 6% fancied Phillips and Moore (again with the phrasing).

That left just 4% seeing Phillips and Gabby as the perfect strike partnership.

Whilst on the subject of Milan Baros, the official site has said the Czech Republic international striker will be ok for their first World Cup match despite limping off in a friendly at the weekend.

If Baros is sold we should invest in a new striker. Phillips is to old and way way past his sale by date. Moore and Gaby are up and coming, but you don't win anything with kids. Angel isn't up to it.

Bottom line for me is that Baros should not be sold, but the board need the money to cover up their inability to run Villa as it should be run. Still, we are heading in the right direction apparently! :-(

How about the 'Juan Moore' head lines providin angel aint shoved out the door.Do u think we could buy back Allback he saved us from relegation under Graham Taylor and i fear he may have to do it again next season.unless we get 'Juan Moore' super season out of angel.Sorry :)

Got to get a decent offer for him first Lee, then Doug will no doubt rub his hands together to offload one more of the high earners.

I think that JPA, like Milan Baros will be out of the door before August comes around, and that will I am convinced be a huge mistake. I personally would hang on to JPA, still believing he has a lot to offer. Every player who leaves this summer needs to be replaced, and hopefully improved upon. To do that we would need considerably more cash that we are ever going to have available this close season.
