Middlesbrough In For Villa Target?

Reports in the Sunday press claim that managerless Middlesbrough have joined the list of potential suitors for Newcastle winger James Milner.

Villa should head the list but doubts that we will meet the Magpies valuation mean that Wigan, Boro or Bolton might sneak in for the Geordie lad. That is IF Newcastle decide that they are prepared to sell him.

Glenn Roeder is set to talk with Milner and make a decision about his future shortly.

Any transfer news that links players with clubs that have no managers is almost certainly a load of rubbish.

Sports writers have to produce a story every day and there is no football to write about. It's either an Owen "I love Stevie G" story or they 'sensationally' link some player to with a club that may be interested.

he's over-rated. played all season and did not contribute that much - remember we were nearly relegated? We are better off giving hendrie a new contract and letting milner go back to the bench at N'castle or some dump like boro, wigan or potsmoth

Agree that its difficult to see how Boro can be interested when they remain minus a manager, but until we lay some cash on the table, any one of a number of clubs could step up to the plate and tempt Newcastle.
