Milner In Win-Win Situation

With a bit of luck and a prevailing win, Villa might secure the signature of James Milner. However I hope the board don't leave it too long to grab the young winger as he will have plenty of suitors interested in grabbing him IF Newcastle decide to let him go.

The 20-year-old says he is in a win-win situation as whether he goes back to Newcastle or moves permanently to Villa, he will be at a big club!

Milner said: 'Who knows what will happen. Things can change every day. If the clubs agree a fee then I'm sure things will take care of themselves in the summer. But as far as I know I'm heading back to Newcastle, unless things happen between the clubs. If that's discussed, I'm sure decisions will be made.'

He told the official site: 'It's important I make sure I go to the right club because I need to be playing every week. I think Villa are a great club. I've enjoyed myself there, they've a great bunch of lads, and I enjoy working with the staff. But I'm in fortunate position because if I do go back to Newcastle, they are a big club, I played a few games for them last season, and it's a great place. Villa are the same, and with the quality of the young and experienced players, then wherever I end up I will be in good hands.'

Villa are apparently looking to the sales of Berson and the Djemba twins to fund the possible transfer.

Milner another one of the few players who wants to play for villa looks likly to leave us for good, meaning we have no right-mid.

Guess we'll find out within the next few days whether or not the geordies will allow him to leave. Would have thought that Roeder would have welcomed the opportunity to work with him, but as Milner himself stresses, he needs to know that if he remains at St James Park, that he's not going to be simply a bit part player. I hope we get him, but I'm far from convinced that we will.

Thats the key factor in the deal, Milner will just go where he will be played and there are many clubs who will play him so unless we sort it out soon it will be too late.
