Berger Might Call Time

Patrik Berger will call time on his career if he suffers another injury ravaged season.

The 33-year-old Czech, who featured just nine times last season because of injuries told the official site:

'When you have injury problems like I have had this season, the hardest part is the mental side of it'

Adding

'If you have one injury in the season, it's fine, but if you're basically going through the same stuff four times a season, it's not the easiest. Also, if you're younger, you look at injuries a little bit more differently than I do, because I'll be 33 this year.'

'Basically, If I had to go through the same again next year, I'd be thinking that it was time to hang up my boots and go home. I know 33 is still young, but football-wise I'm not the youngest any more and I don't really want to have a season like this season. I would rather go home and enjoy my life.'

Was a great player when fit, but i've no idea why you signed him when he spent a fair part of last season injured with us.

Best at Pompey? He was injured half the time. He was/is a quality player but his injury problems have ruined the latter part of his career.
