Another Villa Player Loss

Has anyone noticed the majority of rumours about summer movements are for players LEAVING Villa Park?

Some say we are broke, others that we are looking for a new manager, others go further and say they no longer care and won't return! Happy days.

Still, seems that another of David O'Leary's signings could be on his way out of the Villa Park exit door this summer. Mathieu Berson, who is currently on loan at Auxerre, is almost guaranteed not to return if O'Leary remains and now Eric Djemba-Djemba, who doesn't even figure on the bench these days despite O'Leary's protestations that we have an inexperienced team, is wanted by Paris St Germain.

A report in the Express and Star says the 'flop' is wanted by 'seven or eight' clubs in France and Spain and Villa will listen to offers in the region of £700 000 which would make us a nifty LOSS on yet another player. Jumper-Jumper only joined Villa (from Manchester United) in January 2005 (for £1.35million).

No wonder people keep saying we are broke, we buy expensive and sell on cheap. Peter Crouch £6.5million and sold for £2million springs to mind!

I dont think we ever paid the whole 1.3mil for him, wasnt it based on appearances and he hasnt made enough. Still making a loss I think but a slightly smaller one. Oh and to continue my nitpicking I thought Berson was on loan at Auxerre ;)

TBH, i think you paid too much for Dj-Dj anyway. Don't spose DDE is happy with that bit of business.

Would of thought we could get a million for him.

Noooooooooo!!! The Djemba Twins must stay and fight for their rightful place in the Aston Villa midfield. Him and McCann and you have a very good side.

I'm of the opinion that he should definitely have been given opportunities this season, particularly in view of just how lightweight our midfield is. Then again, how many times have we said the very same thing about other signings in recent seasons? All this talk of players heading for the outdoor, yet no positive talk about where cash is coming from to replace them. The sales of Delaney, de la Cruz, Hendrie, even Angel, are not going to finance much in the way of incoming transfers this summer, and that is very worrying indeed.
