Juan Pablo Angel has hinted that he might be looking for pastures new as he says he isn't prepared to play another bit part next season. Defender Gary Cahill , who scored a spectacular goal in our 3-1 win over Birmingham City is confident that he will get his contract sorted in the summer and will extend his stay 'I've still got a long time here and there are a lot of things that aren't about money. It's more important for me to play in the Premiership and if you play there then the money comes anyway. I've done well in my two games but I don't want to be a flash in the pan. The contract is not even on my mind. I'm more than happy at Villa and I'm enjoying my football.'
The Lions on the Holte End gates were vandalised after the 3-1 victory over Birmingham City. Seems a mighty coincidence that they ended up being painted with Blue paint. Sad..
Steve Bruce said after the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa (are you seeing the theme yet!) 'We don't like it, it's a horrible, horrible feeling to lose to your fierce rivals,' said Bruce. 'It's the first time we've experienced it at Villa Park in four years and of course it hurts.'
Graham Taylor told the Sunday Mercury before the 3-1 victory over Birmingham City: 'There is certainly a need for change at Villa. It has to happen' Warning 'But just because a new owner comes in, it doesn't mean they buy Villa for football reasons. People think it cannot get much worse than it is now, but it certainly can!' O'Leary has made it clear that he wants to keep on-loan winger James Milner. O'Learys says he wants to build the team around the Newcastle United player, who gave his all after returning for the 3-1 win over Birmingham City! Full article: Click Here
Gareth Barry has spoken of his pride after captaining Villa for their 3-1 victory over Birmingham City. 'I was delighted to have the armband today and win in front of our home fans. The first-half was difficult. I think they had most of the play and they were probably a bit disappointed to go it at half-time level. In the second-half we showed our quality and I think the whole team passed the test with flying colours.'
Milan Baros , who scored a brace in the 3-1 victory over Birmingham City, is looking to the future and says he will see where it will be after the world cup. Full article: Click Here
