David O'Leary has joined the chorus of voices asking for video evidence to be brought into football. Full article: Click Here

Villa have been linked to Wolves defender Joleon Lescott but a report today in the Express & Star suggests that Roy Aitkin was at the Wolves v Coventry game to take a look at Wolves striker Carl Cort instead. Full article: Click Here

Former Villa boss John Gregory was quoted in the Sun last weekend. He said: 'In the last few years these derby games have just been about local pride. This time there’s a lot more at stake — the manager’s neck is on the line and fighting for survival dictates a different approach.' Adding: 'David O’Leary is manager of one of the biggest clubs in the country and has one of the most coveted jobs in the country. But the captain recently said the atmosphere was like a graveyard in the dressing room and there is a lot of negativity around the place. There’s a malaise.'

Vital Villa asked readers opinion on John Gregory. 64% said Gregory was 'a real Villa man, I'd love him back'. A further 11% said he should be brought back. 5% said he was a great manager but shouldn't return, 1% can't believe he isn't already in a top job and only 19% said 'no thanks, he had his chance. 28-year-old Zimbabwe international defender Zvenyika Makonese has been linked to Villa. He currently plays in South Africa but an impressive African Cup of Nations tournament has alerted clubs of his ability.

Graham Poll has been pencilled in to referee the nasty local derby v Small Heath on Sunday.

O'Leary is looking to Thomas Sorenson to put in a top display on Sunday saying: 'All I know is that, if we put him on the transfer market tomorrow, then we would have a whole host of top clubs in for him. Look at that vital stop he made for us in the first half against West Brom. It was a fantastic save.'

A proposed new supporters club is being talked about for the Swindon and Wiltshire area, full article: Click Here

David O'Leary has said that Gareth Barry is NOT for sale. Wonder if he has told Doug that? Full article: Click Here

Former Villa keeper and big time charlie (pun intended) Mark Bosnich is looking to make a comeback at the age of 34. His last top flight game was in 2003, he was then sacked by Chelsea having tested positive for cocaine.

I might have caused a bit of a ruckus! David O'Leary said that he had never been invited to a fans forum. I said to a Mirror and Guardian reporter 'oh yes he has'. Full article: Click Here

How do you fancy 32Red.com on your Villa shirt next season? Well, it is what you'll be getting as Aston Villa have today announced what they call a 'ground-breaking' shirt sponsorship deal with 32Red Plc, the internet gaming company. Full article: Click Here

Hey, I'm doing quite well here, I've not vented my spleen once, I'm taking deep breaths and I'm fairly calm!

Villa have been linked to Derby keeper Lee Grant who is currently playing for Oldham.

James Milner is expected to be fit for the derby on Sunday. Lee Hendrie meanwhile is a doubt after an awful tackle from WBA player Robinson. David O'Leary said: 'There is a big stud mark on Lee's instep and it has flared up. It is very sore and tender. I don't think he has broken anything but we've got to see how it settles down for next week.'

John Gregory on Villa fans: 'Villa fans are very passionate, but they're also quite willing to put up with things and it takes a lot for them to turn on a manager. I've had a long association with the club and I've never known Villa fans turn on a manager ever, regardless of the position. Villa were 16th in the table when Doug Ellis fired Ron Atkinson, but the fans were still supporting him. They loved Ron to bits, because he was one of them but I reckon David has made a monumental PR error in distancing himself from the fans.' Full article: Click Here

Kevin Phillips has admitted that he 'hasn't done enough' since his move from Southampton. Full article: Click Here

David O'Leary has urged Gary Cahill to sign the new deal on offer and says the club won't improve the terms. You've got to ask why he has done this so publicly though? Full article: Click Here

Thought for the day: I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.
