Financial Checks On Comer Homes
All sorts of newspaper reports and whispers are going on with reference to the possible takeover of Villa. The Express yesterday said that the Comer brothers will complete the takeover and then keep Doug Ellis in charge of the day to day running. Another report said life long Villa fan and Comer Homes employee Mr Neville will be Chairman.
The guardian today say that Aston Villa are carrying out financial checks on the Comer group because they haven't, as yet, provided proof of funds. They are said to be going through the process of due diligence at the moment before deciding whether to announce a formal bid.
Reports earlier in the week suggested Jack Petchey was about to sell his 20% stake in the club and that Doug would follow closely on his heals. Numerous reports are saying the offer will be £5.60 per share.
As ever, we'll wait and see. I'll believe it when I see the ink dry on the contracts!
