Bolton or West Ham In Cup

Oh dear. IF we get passed Manchester City, and on last nights performance that is a massive IF, we will face either Bolton Wanderers or West Ham United in the quarter finals of the FA Cup.

The game would once again be a home match - which used to be an advantage at Fortress Villa Park, but as our home record is now so poor, I'm not so sure!

The game will be played between March 20 and 23.

Full draw:

Charlton Athletic v Middlesbrough,
VILLA or Manchester City v Bolton Wanderers or West Ham United,
Chelsea v Newcastle United,
Birmingham City v Liverpool.

I think it's a good incentive for Villa, if we had drew Chelsea or Liverpool then maybe going out to man C would be a good thing but in our day we can beat Man C, Bolton and WHU.

I'd say we are still in with a shout. After calming down from last nights dismal diplay I'm now starting to reason with myself, we've played bad before and bounced back (remember Doncaster?) and our away fom is pretty good, so we hav a shot in the replay. I just hope we get West Ham if we do get through.

Twenty four hours on and its still difficult to come to terms with last nights performance. Maybe its not all over yet, maybe we are still in with a shout, we're certainly due a decent showing against Citeh, either home or away. The annoying thing is that a win last night would have set us up nicely for another home tie, and even allowing for our abysmal home form, its surely better to be drawn at VP as opposed to being on the road.

No doubt in my mind we need to steer clear of WHU. They have already took six points off us this season and i know we didn't play that bad in the home game but they will have a lot of confidence playing against us. Where as we seem to do quite well against Bolton and can normally raise our game to counter their tactics. Either way which ever team we play going on games in the last few years there will certainly be goals.

Still Skeggy would claim that certain balls are heated before the draw to ensure the best possible final, in terms of money, so Liverpool will face Chelsea. But please, please dump Man City out - I can't stand Pearce.
